Breaking News – Falun Gong practitioner Ba Shu Qun has been arrested, his wife calls for help and now has been threatened

Shandong province Falun gong practitioner Ba Shu Qun was arrested on the 25th of October by Jinan city officials, charged with “using an evil cult to damage the implementation of law”; this was revealed to the public by overseas media. An Insider revealed Ba Shu Qun’s wife, Jiang Lu is already in hospital. The Insider suspects this is the authority’s revenge on her for revealing her husband’s recent condition. At present, Jiang Lu cannot be contacted, so there is no way of knowing what actual means of oppression the authority used on Jiang Lu.

On the 28th, overseas Epoch Times media, reported that one month after the disappearance of Shandong Falun Gong practitioner Ba Shu Qun, on the 25th of October his wife Jiang Lu received a warrant of arrest from Jinan city, Lu kou local police station charge her of “using an evil cult to damag the implementation of law”. After Jiang Lu notified the Epoch Times of this event, she has received threats, and was taken to Jinan, Jilu hospital on the 29th. An Insider says this is the authority’s revenge on Jiang Lu for revealing the persecution of a Falun Gong practitioner.

Jiang Lu had revealed that her husband, Ba Shu Qun, was an employee at the Shandong provincial library where he began practicing Falun Gong in 1996. Last March, to avoid being arrested, Ba Shu Qun left home. On the 12th of September this year, his wife was notified that her husband could not be found. After asking everywhere, Shandong provincial “610” office told Jiang Lu that the public security had Ba Shu Qun, but no details was given.

On the 25th of October, Jiang Lu was suddenly called to the Jinan city, Lukuo local police station; she was asked to sign the arrest warrant of Ba Shu Qun. Afterwards they suggested she go to the main police hospital in Shandong province. Later the prison staff inside the hospital notified Jiang Lu that Ba Shu Qun was there, but prison staff refused to let them meet. Jiang Lu asked about her husband’s condition, the doctor answered that only persons involved in the case were allowed to know, family members are not allowed. Afterwards, news from the warden, Jiang Lu got to know that Ba Shu Qun was sent to the hospital on the 18th of September. Jiang Lu expressed that Lukou Tian qiao police station had informed her when Ba Shu Qun was captured and that his leg had been gazed. With regard to this, Jiang Lu put forward her suspicion:

(Recording): If it were a light injury on the 18th of September, it would have already been healed by now. So it must not be an ordinary injury, otherwise why he has been in the hospital for over one month if the injury was not severe? Now I feel helpless and don’t know what to do. How could I get him out, or at least see him in person. I am very worried now.

An Insider expressed, according to the Public Security Case Regulation and associated regulation on Peoples’ Republic of China’s Criminal law, the interrogation of a criminal suspect cannot be longer than 24 hours. If a person’s liberty is restricted, then family members must be notified within 24 hours. Detention time periods for criminal a case cannot be more than 37 days. However, Jinan public security’s arrest of Ba Shu Qun and interrogation did not undergo any procedural process or notification. Until now, Ba Shu Qun has already been incarcerated for 43 days!

With regard to the illegal arrest and criminal detention of Ba Shu Qun, and the sudden illness and hospitalisation of his wife, Jiang Lu, due to the oppression from the authority, relevant people call for the help of people from the outside.
