Breaking News – Large scale strike due to lack of compensation
As reported by Sound of Hope on Feb 25th, more than 2,000 employees of Santai County Cotton Textile Group Ltd, Sichuan Province launched the largest strike since the 18th to protest against the company for failing to deliver compensation. This strike is still continuing after eight days.
An unidentified male worker from the company confirmed that over 2,000 workers participated in the strike, and they have no intention to return to work until the issue is resolved.
The man also explained that the workers expect to receive compensation, whenever the government restructures an enterprise.
Government officials from all levels have attempted to convince those workers to resume work but were so far unsuccessful.
