Breaking News-Shanghai Residents’ Parade to Protest against Rejected Maglev

On the 27th of February Shanghai Public Security Bureau rejected a parade application by the residents residing along Shanghai Maglev Airport extension line, opposing to the construction of maglev train.

Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau rejected the applications for public processions on the ground that the nature of parade, designated participants, procession route and time of the parade would disrupt normal traffic order and public security.

As to the rejection of the procession, the applicant and the residents think that it is not surprising or unexpected. But now, it is unclear whether residents would apply for a review of the decision.
