Breaking News - Human Rights Torch Relay is seen for the first time in Hunan
The Human Rights Torch Relay first appeared in Changsha, Hunan on April 6. Some groups at Yuelu Mountain, a scenery spot in Changsha City shouted The Human Rights Torch Relay” slogan: “The Same World, the Same Human Rights.”
On April 6, 2008, China Blue Ribbon Alliance members shouted slogans for The Human Rights Torch Relay transmission in China at the secenery spot, Yuelu Mountain in Changsha City. China’s Changsha members of Blue Ribbon Alliance Xie Fulin said, the Tibet issue, and Hu Jia case all reflected China’s human rights situation. We are following the steps of the international society who call for human rights.
Human Rights Torch Coordination Centre person, Xia Han for Chinese Media Contacts said that if the torch relay hadn’t spread by the road map, the torch relay would be still in the southeast region. However, through the Internet and other communication channels, such information has reached many places, like Heilongjiang, Guizhou, Beijing and Shanghai. The torch relay had won peoples strong support as they want to defend their rights and it advocates the safeguarding of human rights
The 2008 Olympic torch relay has been protested constantly by various different parties, and the Human Rights Torch Relay that concurrently spreads with the Olympic torch, has been voluntarily joined by a growing number of people in Mainland China.
