[Cleveland] Canton City Mayor: The most touching piece is the program that has three dancers and one of them goes to heaven
On 3 May, the Divine Performing Arts Troupe completed its first performance at the State Theatre in downtown Cleveland where it attracted over 2000 people in the audience.
The Mayor of Canton City, Mr William J. Healy and his family came to see the performance. He knew of the performance from seeing it via the Chinese-American association two years ago.

Mr Healy said that this show is very different, very good. He felt the most touching is the piece that has three dance performers and one of them goes to the heaven at end (The Risen Lotus Flower). He said that the story is very shocking, and it conveyed a strong message that although they can not uphold the freedom of their beliefs (the police persecute them), in the end (the Falun Gong practitioner was killed) the God and Buddha took the practitioner to heaven, and they were celebrated for this. I think this is very good and very touching.”
He went on to say, “Of course the drum beating program is also very good, very exciting and the drums were waking people up.”
He also said that the costumes were very beautiful. When the curtain opened, the entire stage was shown to the audience, including the colours of the costume, the backdrop of the stage, and all could see that this chinese show was to be very different from the usual american shows.
Mr Healy believes that this is a very good opportunity to have Americans understand Chinese culture and history. That is very good. He said he will bring his son to see the performances. He hoped that his son can understand the Chinese culture as much as he understands American culture.
