Breaking News - Thousands protest in Guizhou over injustice, while torching the Public Security Bureau
On the afternoon of June twenty-eighth, a large number of local people rushed into the County Public Security Bureau, the County government and County Party Buildings. Smashing offices and setting fire to the offices and dozens of vehicles. The cause of the incident was a schoolgirl from Weng a Third Middle school; Li Shufen was raped and killed by local hooligans. The murderers have an association with the officials of the Public Security and County government, thus were released, which has triggered protests from tens of thousand people.
For the case, the Public Security did not conduct any investigation and transcripts of the work, and said Li Shufen was reported as a victim of suicide from jumping into a river.
According to an officer, they seized the two boys and a girl, who were the victim’s classmates and sent them to the police, but the next day, they were released. When the officer was asked of the cause of death, he said it was drowning and fielded the questions like he was the parent. When a forensic investigation was carried they found no water in the stomach, her face had signs of beatings and blood in the nose. When an appeal was carried out for deeper investigation, it was ignored.
Another member of the public was interviewed and expressed that the local people is very indignant.
