Around 8:30 pm in the evening of July 1, Christian Family Church member Hua Hui-Qi was suddenly swarmed and beaten by over 30 mobs from Chongwen District State Security and the Public Security Bureau. At the same time, his brother Hua Hui-lin was also bashed. Then the whole family was evicted and stayed on the street overnight.

According to Hua Hui-Qi, around 8:30 pm police knocked on the door while Hua Hui-Qi did not open the door for them. The police failed to find the lock company. (Recording) ” Police in uniform and plainclothes came with an 18 pound sledgehammer to smash the security door open, and bashed me violently. Then I was dragged outside.”

Hua Hui-Qi stated that the police entered the building, and swang the big hammer onto Hua Hui-Qi while his wife was beaten unconscious in her attempt to prevent the assault. Together with Hua’s 90 year-old father, Hua and his wife were dragged outside of their home. Last night, seven or eight police officers lodged in Hua Hui-Qi’s home and hua’s family had to spend a night on the street of Xiyuan Community, Dongshi of Chongwen District. (Recording): “There are now seven or eight police living inside, and they threw me out of my own home and no matter what they won’t let me in.”

Hua Hui-Qi told the reporter, “Police demanded Hua to sign security agreements that no gathering is allowed during the Olympics, and asked for the list of church members and activities. (Recording): “(I) did not sign, because we will not sign that (agreement) with him. The Olympics is approaching, they (authority) go to the places where religious activities are fairly active for signing the security agreement, banning gatherings during this period of time. Police demand name lists, that is, to request the church members and other participants of the community to report to them. He Said that they detained his mother as a hostage because he failed to cooperate with them. ”

In recent years, Hua Hui Qi and his family have been repeatedly beaten, arrested and harassed by the Chinese Communist police.
