ICT - Chinese residents voice support for a police attacker
The attack on Shanghai police on July first by Yang Jia, a Beijing resident has been closely watched by Chinese residents. One former military officer says there is overwhelming support for Yang’s actions and if Yang was to be sentenced, it is the police who have broken the law.
The former solider said the incident reflects the public’s hatred for the police system, which has brought havoc to the citizens. He says he witnessed over ninety people cheering for Yang and he believes, this reflects the total failure of the justice system and its administrator. He says it is possible that society will be more stable without this corrupt justice system.
The former soldier believes that the people should try police who have repeatedly broken the law. He says that Yang’s action, which amount to a vengeance against corrupt officials was done in haste, and is criminally liable for his actions.
On July first, Yang Jia, armed with a knife broke into the Zabei Bureau of Public security in Shanghai City. He repeatedly stabbed police and guards, and six police were unable to be revived after receiving treatment in hospital. Another three police and one security guard were injured.
