With the approaching Olympics, The Communist regime is behaving extremely secretively like a calamity is drawing near. According to an insider, during the Olympic Games, to ban Falun Gong practitioners and dissidents from appeals, the Communist authorities issued a death order that public security must take various approaches to silence voices of dissidents.

According to sources in Mainland China, in June 2008, in Gaobeidian City of Baoding, Hebei Province, over 20 Falun Gong practitioners have been kidnapped. At present, there are still a dozen Falun Gong practitioners still being illegally held in detention centres. On June 26 and 27, 20 Falun Gong practitioners were kidnapped in Ding’xin County of Baoding City, Hebei Province. In addition, on 28th and 29th June, over 30 Falun Gong practitioners were kidnapped in Xin’bin County of Fushun City in Liaoning Province. According to sources, arrests of these Falun Gong practitioners are mostly pre-arranged in accordance with the blacklist made by the local police station and the “610 Office” and some were even directly kidnapped from their work place.

It is known that in order to control the negative media reports, during the Olympics, the mainland authorities have specially arranged a spokesperson from each work unit, while others are forbidden from any contact with foreign journalists, or accepting interviews with foreign reporters.

As reflected by Mainland commoners, despite that official media has not mentioned a word about security for the Olympic Games, but in accordance with the Communists’ convention, the country is now likely in a state of alert. To the Chinese communists, the “face project” and the personal interests of the Communist Party officials well surpass the importance of human rights of Chinese people, and the lives in the earthquake-stricken areas of China.

Virginian, senior Republican Congressman Frank Wolf from The American diplomacy Association, and New Jersey Republican member Chris Smith scheduled to have dinner with the Chinese dissident lawyers on the evening of June 28. The Uighur human rights organization said that the incident related to the mosque not cooperating with the Olympic publicity of the Chinese Communist Party.
According to the World Uighur Congress spokesman Dilixiati; the Chinese authorities forced all mosques in Uighur to promote the Beijing Olympics, in which a mosque in Kumuli village at Aksu Keping county refused to cooperate and now faces forced demolition.

The news of the removal of this moseque was reported on the Keping government website, it said that the mosque was illegally built on a grazing location in the Kumuli village and conducted illegal religious activities for 10 years. Based on ethnic and religious affairs regulations, the petition regulation, law and order, and religious management of the Keping County, they have proceeded with the qualitative punishment of the Kumuli village personnel, and say that the mosque will be demolishing before 26th of May.

According to local government news, the demolision and removal of the mosque belong to the first phase of corrective punishments focused in Yuer rural areas, and currently the second phase of work is proceeding, including the requirement of the working team in the village to hold a forum or general assembly as a way of education township. The village cadres and the party members are to develop the party’s ethnic and religious policies in batches and stages. They must clearly publish the education and the education rate must be achieved 100%. This is to ensure that the third phase of the work develops according to plan.

A local grass-roots unit cadre acceptting an enquiry on Monday, first denied the incident about the demolition of the mosque, then admitted later, when a reporter asked about the reason for the demolition. The cadre said that religious affairs are very sensitive, it is inappropriate to disclose the details so we can only address to the public that it was illegal.

According to the overseas World Uyghur Congress: More than 10 Uighur people in Aksu County boycotted the official Olympic Games publicity, and were arrested and tortured. A responsible person of a primary school in Keping County said on Monday that the Department of Education had arranged tasks to schools to produce and distribute the Olympic-related pictures.

The motion, moved by Greens Senator Ms Kerry Nettle, was passed unanimously in the Senate on Tuesday. The vote represents the first time that the Senate has publicly supported an end to the persecution by the Chinese communist regime.

Falun Gong spokesperson Kay Rubacek says that this is the first statement by the Australian Government in support of an end to the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. She thinks Australia has made a historic step, aligning the government’s position with that of many other Western democracies around the world. Mrs. Rubacek also said that this is not only a statement in itself, but this will immediately impact positively on the people of China. She says that International condemnation of the persecution is the most effective way to stop the torture and killing.

Reports from human right monitoring groups Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and the United Nations Special Rapporteur on torture, detail evidence of a campaign of systematic imprisonment and torture of Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese communist regime since July 1999.

Amnesty International’s 2008 Annual Report says Falun Gong practitioners were specially targeted by the regime.

It states that Falun Gong practitioners were at a particularly high risk of torture and other ill-treatment in detention…During the year over 100 Falun Gong practitioners were reported to have died in detention or shortly after release as a result of torture, denial of food or medical treatment, and other forms of ill-treatment.

In his 2005 Mission to China report, United Nations Special Rapporteur, Manfred Nowak, documented that 66% of all reported torture victims were Falun Gong practitioners.

In the 2004 United Nations Reports on China’s Persecution of Falun Gong, the Special Rapporteur for Extrajudicial, Summary or Arbitrary Executions said the claims of torture occurring within China’s labour camps were particularly brutal.

In the report it stated that “The Special Rapporteur continues to be alarmed by deaths in custody in China. Reports describe harrowing scenes in which detainees, many of whom are followers of the Falun Gong movement, die as a result of severe ill treatment, neglect or medical attention. The cruelty and brutality of these alleged acts of torture defy description.”

Pressure on Falun Gong adherents has intensified since January this year, believed to be linked to a drive by Chinese authorities’ to “stamp out” Falun Gong before the Olympics in Beijing. The escalation has resulted in 1,878 arrests across 29 provinces this year, according to the Falun Dafa Information Centre website.
The violence has also extended overseas with mob attacks on Falun Gong practitioners in Flushing, New York since May 17 and harassment and abuse of practitioners in Sydney’s Chinatown and outside the Chinese Embassy in Canberra.
The instigation of group violence against Falun Gong adherents outside China has been linked to Chinese Embassy officials and agent provocateurs.
It was revealed in a recorded phone conversation, that New York’s Chinese Consul General Peng Keyu was responsible for organising the attacks and Zhou Yongkang, the head of the regime’s spy system, was the mastermind behind the attacks.

Petitions tabled in the Australian Parliament regarding the persecution of Falun Gong record the highest number of signatures gathered for a human rights issue in Australian history.
At least 37,000 Australians signed the global “Millions of Signatures” petition, which calls for an immediate end to the persecution of Falun Gong in China, with close to one million people having signed the petition worldwide.
Two motions have previously been passed by the Australian Senate. The first, passed in December 2003, motioned to assist the rescue of relatives of Australian Falun Gong practitioners illegally detained in China. The second, relating to the harassment of Falun Gong practitioners in Australia, was passed by the Senate in June 2005.

Ahead of the Beijing Olympics in August, the Chinese Communist Party has not only failed to fulfil its promise to improve human rights in China, it has strengthened its oppression and surveillance of human rights. Dissidents are subject to detention, stalking and monitoring in a bid by the CCP to prevent events during the Olympics which may cause the regime to “lose face”.
Recently, a SOH reporter interviewed Tan Langying, a human rights activist in Shanghai. She says that the CCP is telling the world it has human rights, but does the world now know whether human rights really exist in China. In fact it doesn’t. She gave the example of the Olympics Torch relay currently underway in China and said she was under house arrest for 4 days, as I said we want human rights and not the Olympics. The Olympic Games only caused despair for our broken up families.

Another activist Shen Dongmei is also treated by Shanghai officials as an “sensitive” person. Officials sent warnings to Shen to not leave home during the Shanghai leg of the Olympic torch relay. Shen said that from May 19, the regional government summoned me to address the issue, I went there and within 30 minutes I was detained by them. I was only released on May 25.

During this sensitive period of the Olympic Games, human rights activists and petitioners are all under close surveillance by the CCP. At the end of May, over 40 activists sent a joint open letter to the Chief of the International Olympics Committee. The letter described that despite voluntary donations by hundreds of human rights activists after the May 12 earthquake disaster, these activists were nonetheless subjected to threats and harassment by plain clothes police and spies.

It has been one hundred days since the Communist authorities violently suppressed mass resistance in Lhasa against its despotic rule. Since then the Beijing Olympic torch relay has reached Lhasa.

On the twenty first of June, although the Lhasa situation was “basically stable”, Tibetan authorities completed the Olympic torch relay with the city besieged under heavy guard. The original route had been shortened in a three-hour journey, to arrive at the destination in less than two hours.

After the relay torch ended, a melt-fire ceremony was held in the Potala Palace, that is, to merge the torch fire from the torch relay transmission and the torch fire at the top of Mount Qomolangma into one. At the “melt-fire ceremony”, an embarrassing scene happened when the torch fire at Mount Qomolangma extinguished itself.

As Beijing’s Olympic torch relay walked all the way, the protests continued to follow, coupled with the March outbreak as the most serious Tibetan protests that had occurred in the past twenty years, the Communist authorities have been on high alert and mobilized tens of thousands of armed police and public security involved in defending the relay. The alarming extent of guards and protection along the official torch relay route has been astonishing.

<itunes:summary>It has been one hundred days since the Communist authorities violently suppressed mass resistance in Lhasa against its despotic rule. Since then the Beijing Olympic torch relay has reached Lhasa.

On the twenty first of June, although the Lhasa situation was "basically stable", Tibetan authorities completed the Olympic torch relay with the city besieged under heavy guard.

At the "melt-fire ceremony", an embarrassing scene happened when the torch fire at Mount Qomolangma extinguished itself.

As Beijing's Olympic torch relay walked all the way, the protests continued to follow, coupled with the March outbreak as the most serious Tibetan protests that had occurred in the past twenty years, the Communist authorities have been on high alert and mobilized tens of thousands of armed police and public security involved in defending the relay. The alarming extent of guards and protection along the official torch relay route has been astonishing.
