Chinese police have arrested Guo Quan, deputy leader of China’s New People’s Party, on May 17th while he was taking his son to school. He was arrested for publishing seven articles about the huge earthquake in Sichuan. It wasn’t until May 18th when his family was informed that he would be detained for 10 days.

As reported by Sound of Hope on Feb 25th, more than 2,000 employees of Santai County Cotton Textile Group Ltd, Sichuan Province launched the largest strike since the 18th to protest against the company for failing to deliver compensation. This strike is still continuing after eight days.
