On the 28th of May the “Tiananmen Mothers” Web site in both Chinese and English was officially launched by the families of the “June 4″ victims. On the eve of the 19th anniversary of the June 4 incident, the organization of “Tiananmen Mothers” said that the opening of this site is for seeking justice for those “June 4″ victims and an extension of the protest for rights to those who live.
The “Tiananmen Mothers” web site is established with the help from a “volunteer team” that belongs to the USA self-link association. This is a bilingual website, in addition to the content that explains the organisation of the “Tiananmen Mothers” there is also a list of the victims of the June 4 incident and virtual monument.

The organization of “Tiananmen Mothers” has a statement on the site that says “In China today, a group of people who lost their loved ones in the ‘June 4′ massacre; mother, father, wife, husband, now have a place to open their hearts, an area where the world can hear their voices. It was an area where they can imprint their footprints. This is not only a pioneer in history but also late luck.”

This “June 4” victims group, “Tiananmen Mothers” began to take shape in 1989 shortly after the “June 4″ massacre. In August that year, two mothers who had tragically lost their sons on “June 4″ – Ding Zilin and Zhang Xianling, were brought together because of their common destiny. As time passes by, the group grows more, and more victims’ families join in. It became aware that it should look for other victims’ family. This group was named the “Tiananmen Mothers” in early 2000.
